I have a new toy I mean laptop

My husband was nice to me and let me order my new laptop last Friday and it arrived today! I am now really happy and not afraid that my computer will crash at any moment! I have spent sometime trying to get everything updated and set up. the least favorite part of getting a new computer is getting it set back up to the way I use it. my bookmarks, my settings. All the fun. I will be uploading more projects this week. I am getting ready for my card workshop this coming Saturday! I will post pictures of the cards that we are making I love these cards they are from the Frosted Workshop on the go card kit. So easy to put together and look so nice when they are put together!

Hope your week is a great one, the weather is changing and fall is becoming winter!

Pajamas!

As you know by now I have a 3 year old and well he grows like a little weed. every year at this time we are are packing away the summer cloths and pulling out winter stuff and praying that we can get through the first few months without having to replace too much. Pajamas are one item of clothing that it seems he is always out growing them. I decided to try my hand at sewing some for him this year. he only wears them to bed and well he can pick the fabric and it is a win win!
I got one pair done so far (should really get going on the others) I think I did a pretty good job for a first try (ok 2nd but the first time doesn't count as I didn't have a pattern) He seems to like them. Best part is that I made them WAY to big and just hemed up the legs and he should be able to grow into them! at least thats the plan!

Quiet Time Buckets

My 3 year old has decided that he doesn't need to take naps anymore. Little does he know that mommy still needs her down time! So after searching on pinterest for ideas for quiet time buckets we headed to the dollar store to find some activities for him to do on his own in his room while mommy takes a much needed afternoon break! It worked great for the first week and well now when I tell him it is quiet time he would rather take a nap. Although he doesn't really nap. On to plan B, whatever that is we are figuring it out as we go. but here is what I came up with for the buckets.
I used my cricut and some vinyl to cut out the days.

Everyday has something a little different!

Open Crop Nights

I have been holding open crop nights once a month this fall I have been able to get a lot done during this time. I have also found that my helper likes to take part and do his own projects! I have a few older stamps (mostly wooden stamps that I don't use any more) that I have saved for him to use. Also some of my older stamp pads or ones that I have found on clearance at the craft stores. I set him up with his own little table and some scrap paper and he goes right to work.

I love that he loves to do his own "stamping project". He also likes to send his own thank you cards and birthday cards.

getting started!

"hmm which stamp to use?"
I hope he continues to find his creative side!

Hang with me

So my laptop is dying and therefore I am not uploading my pictures to my laptop at the moment. I have already backed up everything on my external hard drive. I am take too many pictures to risk loosing any of them. I am really hoping to have a new laptop real soon!

I am still crafting and will have a lot of new posts once this computer issue is resolved! I have several projects that I have finished that I can't wait to share with you!

Hope your week has been great! We are trying to get over our colds around here and not keep passing them back and forth to each other. So far the 3 year old has recovered the most and well I am hoping I will turn that corner soon! Praying that the husband doesn't catch this cold. As we are heading into his busy season for work!

Warm Winter Wishes

This week I am getting ready to do a craft fair and have been playing with some of my winter stamps. If you know me I love penguins they are my favorite thing about winter! So when I saw this stamp set I just HAD to have it! This stamp set is from our hostess stamps. If you Host a party with me and your party reaches $150 in sales you too could own this stamp set.
I started with a red base for the card added colonial white inked around the colonial white with chocolate ink (Z2111) using the Artiste cartridge I cut two of the same shapes one at 2.5 and the other at 1.5 then I cut a circle at 2.25
on the circle I stamped this little penguin guy. In black ink (z2105) I also cut the snowflake from the artiste cartridge out of silver glitter paper (z1829). I used our new shimer trim (I love this stuff!!!) (Z1848)!
I had to add sparkle to his hat and scarf! I love the way this card turned out!

Enjoy!

Christmas Preview!

Here is a fun project I made for the upcoming craft fair this weekend. I finally finished it! I can't wait to make more!
I made this using Cricut cartridge Artiste exclussive to Close to my Heart. I just got this cartridge for my birthday this year and it hasn't left my cricut sense there are so many great cuts on this cartridge. I will post details of how I made this later but here it is!

Hope your week great!

A little Something....

This is a cute little project I made for my friend Lynn she ordered my creations muslin drawstring bags (Z1822) she wanted them stamped with the stamp set For a Friend (D1542) . I think they turned out really cute and could be used for many different things.

And here is a graduation card I made for our cousin that just graduated from High School this last May.
It didn't photograph as nice but I was happy with it. I embossed it and then cut out the year and grad cap and diploma with my cricut. I don't remember which cartridge it is from. It was done in his school colors. I embellished with some stickles.

Super Hero

This little guy keeps my on my toes and busy, but he is so worth it! He has taken an interest in Super heros and likes to pretend that he is a super hero and has super strength. So we went to the fabric store so he could pick out some fabric to make his very own cape!
I would like to think that I can sew perfectly and everything comes out perfect the first time but then that would be a lie. Since we are trying to teach my son that it is not nice to lie..
I got the Idea off of Pintrest read some instructions but then made up my own.
Not that you can tell but the collar I tried it twice before I setteled on the outcome I first tried to just put some velcro on the ends but he likes to jump around and well it just wasnt working for him. so back to the drawing board took a piece of scrap material cut it down sewed it together threaded some ribbion and sewed that onto the cape now he can easily take it off himself (still needs help putting it on)

Cut out an A For super Al...ex on my cricut after watching some youtube videos to make sure I was doing it right. I made it a little big for him so hopefully we will get a few years worth of use out of this project!

Hinged Frame

This was a fun project, I did this for my mother in law for mothers day. Using the 5x7 hinged display tray (Z1838) I created this keepsake for her. The stamp set I used was Family Love (D1506) The paper came from our Dream Pop paper pack. This was the first time I have tried my hand at a home decor piece.

Happy Crafting!
